About Me:
I was introduced to tantra about 5 years ago. My husband and I were newlyweds but were struggling with intimacy between us. We were also polyamorous so had the opportunity to get our needs met from others, yet I still found our lack of intimacy really hard and confusing. A woman we dated introduced us to ISTA, the International School of Temple Arts. I went to my first tantra retreat with curiosity, and a desire to experience my full sexual expression.
That didn’t happen, but that retreat did launch me down a multi year tantra journey that has been therapeutic and healing, as well as spiritually awakening.
I was raised Catholic, and on both sides of my lineage pleasure has been considered a sin and something to deny, shame or repress. But I have lived a very progressive life and didn’t think I carried shame or fear of pleasure in my system. It wasn’t until my own session with a tantrika that I became aware of my lived experience of sexual shame and fear of pleasure. Since that session I have been on a profound journey to unwind those patterns.
Through tantra I have discovered my own Pleasure Pillars (my laughter, trust and a relaxed nervous system) and have experienced how pleasure is an expression of the Divine. Integrating my life force energy and seeing it as sacred has been life changing. I’m called to share my experience with others. I love what I do. It is important to me.
